The corporate website I designed and coded in Wordpress for Catalyst Environmental needed to be responsive and informative. It also needed to be representative of the company's professionalism and down to earth nature in their field: environmental/soil remediation and waste management.

Before mapping out the website, I worked with the Catalyst team to arrive at color choices for the site. The colors tie in with their logo and also reflect the down to earth, dedicated nature of the company's work.

One of the challenges was making the hazardous waste clean up firm's site look compelling and attractive on a limited budget, with only a handful of smartphone photos snapped from the field. This site needed to show customers the intricacies of Catalyst's clean up work, so rather then substituting the photos with stock images, I chose to use the best of the ones they provided me throughout the site to support the copy. I then selected stock photography to use within the hero images of each page, thus infusing the pages with a modern sense of character and professionalism.

To keep within budget and a fast turnaround time, I selected and customized a theme within Wordpress for this site. This also enables the client to use the back-end CMS for updates on their own.
